JAMB to reschedule candidates who couldn’t write their Exam and those who missed UTME. See the date 2024 and things to know.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for over 1,985,642 registered candidates.

The examination commenced recently and is expected to conclude on May 13th, 2024.

The results will be released shortly after.

During visits to examination centres such as Adeola Schools in Kubwa and Kogo-Bwari, it was observed that parents who accompanied their children stayed at a distance from the examination venues.

Following the monitoring of the exam at Kogo-Bwari, Abuja, the Registrar of the Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, assured the public that candidates encountering any technical glitches during the exam would be given another opportunity to sit for the examination on a rescheduled date and time.

Prof. Oloyede acknowledged reports of technical difficulties at some centres and urged candidates to remain calm, emphasizing that the Board was actively addressing any challenges.

He noted that technical issues could arise at any centre and requested understanding from the public.

JAMB has announced the rescheduling of exam dates for today.

This implies that JAMB will reschedule candidates who missed their exams for various reasons starting from 22nd June 2024.

Actions to Take if You Missed Your UTME Exams:

  1. Visit your examination centre and provide documentation to notify them of your absence.
  2. Once documented, they will forward your details to JAMB.
  3. Subsequently, reprint your slip to view the new exam date.

                  Same here. Mine was biometrics issue on the 20th. JAMB CBT was done for the first time at the center I was posted. I don’t know if that’s the cause. I still pray for a miraculous reschedule.

        That we have to wait till next year

      Relax and re-read the steps. Actions to Take if You Missed Your UTME Exams:

      Visit your examination centre and provide documentation to notify them of your absence.

      My son didn’t write his JAMB exam because of technical issues from the centre. He was told to write down his phone numbers and others that he will be communicated to for a new date but haven’t gotten any information yet. I’m really worried JAMB needs to act fast so that these children won’t be demoralized.

    I missed my jamb yesterday, it was scheduled by 7am, I couldn’t get to the place on time. It was very far 🥹. Jamb should try and do something lots of people have this same issue. I think the best thing to do at the moment is either to tag them on Twitter and lay the complaint, the more the number of candidates who missed the exams, will likely get them to reschedule it 🥹🙏🏽

    My name is Eniola Banjo. My registration number is; 202441347896JA. My CBT Center is at Jolas College, 20 Pike Street, off Okesuna, Obalende, Lagos Island.

    I was scheduled to write my exam on Saturday, 20th April 2024. That day, the Center had network issues. We had our biometrics and after waiting from 7am – 10;30am we were informed that we can’t write the exam. They told us to look at our phones, because the rescheduling details will be sent to us. The phone number which I used to register sent a message at past 6pm that same day with only’ for more details’ written in it.

    Upon receiving this message, we were confused by what it meant. My dad said it’s better to send one of his workers on Monday, just to confirm when the rescheduling is holding, so I won’t miss the exam. He sent this person around 4;30pm on Monday, 22nd April, 2024, due to the news of arresting parents or anyone who is likely to cause trouble around the Center. On getting there, it was discovered that the exam was already written at 2:00pm that Monday Afternoon. This was a total shock as I didn’t get any information. A few other students were absent from the exam as well. The Center said there’s nothing they can do about it, so we should head to the JAMB office for Lagos State.

    We have been going back and forth to see what can be done about this issue. We went to the JAMB office for Lagos at IKOYI the next day – 23rd April. They said none of there staff were back, and there’s nothing they can do about it.We’ve gone back to the CBT Center afterwards, and then on Thursday the 25th, we wanted to head back to the JAMB office at Ikoyi, when we received news from a reliable sourceh ttps://www.schoolpursuit.com/jamb-to-reschedule-candidates-who-couldnt-write-their-exam/ (this website)… that JAMB will reschedule anyone who didn’t write, and it listed these steps;

    Actions to Take if You Missed Your UTME Exams:

    1. Visit your examination centre and provide documentation to notify them of your absence.

    2. Once documented, they will forward your details to JAMB.

    3. Subsequently, reprint your slip to view the new exam date.

    We headed straight to the school and met the proprietor and another parent whose son was also scheduled for 7am on Saturday 20th April, but couldn’t write and didn’t receive the rescheduling details.

    We spoke to the proprietor. He put down our complaints, collected our registration slips and gave it to the man who came to pick up the school’s CCTV footage of the exam. We have been following up on the proprietor since then, and he said he has spoken with the JAMB Coordinator for Lagos State, but there’s no response yet. It’s almost as though we are currently disturbing them. On the 1st of May, 2024 we reached out to the man who came to collect the CCTV footage/exam materials from the center. He said that the right thing is for the school (the proprietor or staff) to go there and lodge the complain at the JAMB office/keep reaching out till there’s a response, because this isn’t good for the students at all. He also noted that there’s nothing the school can do about it, but it is for JAMB to reschedule me and find another school where I can write my exam.He mentioned that there were other people who came there yesterday to lodge their complaints.

    I and my family are reaching out to see what can be done about this issue, and we really hope to get a response from you. We are really pleading and would be very grateful if Eniola Banjo can be rescheduled to write her JAMB exams.

    My biometrics couldn’t be recognised at the exams centre and I wasn’t allowed to take the exams, the officer registered me as an unverified candidate but I haven’t gotten any further information. Please help I’m really worried.

    I went to jamb headquarters. They said that all candidate who missed the examination because of biometric issue were going to be rescheduled.

    Pls,my son could not write the exam,due to biometric issues,, the jamb official recaptured him and take all the necessary information about him,and we were told to await rescheduling, that jamb will communicate us either via the phone number or his mail, until now,we have not heard anything from them.pls I am pleading jamb should do something fast,so that it will not demoralized the candidates that are involved.
