About the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK)
Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK) is a public university in Sokoto, Nigeria. It was established in September 1975 as one of the four new universities by the Nigerian Federal Government and started academic activities on 20th October 1977. The first intake was 93 undergraduate students pursuing B.A, B.A/Ed and B.Sc with 33 academic staff.
The first convocation was held on 22nd November 1980 with 72 graduates.
Over the years, UDUSOK has expanded its programmes and infrastructure. The main campus has faculties of Agriculture, Arts, Education, Engineering, Law and Sciences. The annex campus has Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Centre for Islamic Studies and School of Remedial and Basic Studies. The third campus has the university teaching hospital, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science.
