About the Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY)
Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY) is a public institution in Iree, Osun State, Nigeria. It started in 1981 as a satellite campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. On October 12, 1992, it got autonomy when Governor Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke signed the establishing law.
OSPOLY produces skilled professionals in fields like science, engineering, environmental studies, ICT, management and finance. We started with 8 programs at Pre-ND, ND and HND levels and we have grown to over 30 accredited programs by 2025.
The polytechnic has 9 faculties: Information and Communication, Management Studies, Financial Studies, Science, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Art and Industrial Design, Vocational and Technical Education and Directorate of General Studies. Each faculty offers courses relevant to industry.
OSPOLY is located in Iree, a town in Osun State, providing a conducive learning environment. The campus has modern facilities, well equipped laboratories, libraries and lecture halls to support academic and extra curricular activities.
The institution has had several leadership changes, Dr. Woye Olaniran is the Rector as of 2024. Under his leadership OSPOLY is upgrading its academic standards and infrastructure to produce employable graduates that can contribute meaningfully to the society.
OSPOLY has collaboration with several organizations to improve educational standard and research opportunities. One of which is with organizations in the United States to enhance agricultural technology education which is in line with global standard.
Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, started as a satellite campus and is now a full-fledged autonomous institution providing technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
