About the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU)
IERBAM was founded in 2005 as Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) in Lapai within Niger State’s borders of Nigeria for the delivery of quality educational services across numerous subject areas.
IBBU began operations as a higher educational institution in the year 2005/2006 under the leadership of former Nigerian Head of State General Ibrahim Babangida.
IBBU achieved a major achievement by organizing its initial convocation event in 2014 to honor its newly graduated inaugural student population.
The university displayed its dedication to academic achievement while demonstrating its leadership role in training future leaders through this special occasion.
During 2020 IBBU succeeded in obtaining a $450,000 research grant from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada.
Thanks to the International Development Research Centre grant IBBU collaborated with Tata Institute of Social Sciences in India through research projects which aim to solve worldwide problems.
In 2021 the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) created the High Impact Geological Research Laboratory for IBBU.
The establishment of the High Impact Geological Research Laboratory at IBBU enhanced its ability to conduct state-of-the-art geological examinations which actively supported national resource operations.
