Since 1975 up to present OGS program has been giving merit-based scholarships to the best graduate students at Ontario Universities in all branches of academic study.
The scholarship program in University of Toronto is jointly funded by Province of Ontario and the University of Toronto.
The Province gives OGS awards to universities indicating the number of awards they can give to their students every year.

Value & Duration
OGS scholarship is worth 5000 dollars per year. So any recipients can receive two or three consecutive sessions of 10,000 or 15,000 dollars respectively.
In all cases, the awarding graduate unit will meet one-third the cost of the entire award to be received by the students.
All scholarships can be used within a one-year duration (i.e. two consecutive or three academic terms).
The amount and the span of every OGS award will be determined by the granting graduate unit and as stated in the offer letter that is given to the winner.
Eligibility
As per the date of student requirement due date by each graduate unit, your citizenship is to be Canadian, Permanent Resident or Protected Person as stipulated under paragraph 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee protection Act (Canada). International students with a temporary resident visa (student study permit) who have already achieved or can be expected to receive a study permit by the time of application to the university of Toronto graduate units are also eligible to apply for a small number of Ontario Graduate Scholarship awards (a valid study permit must be available by the graduate units OGS international application deadline).
Be or intend to be enrolled to a full-time qualifying program in 2022-2023.
An eligible program is a degree program that is two or three terms and is full time at the University of Toronto. A full-time sister who is enrolle in at least 60 percent of a full course looper center cent known as students with a permanent impairment) or as per the definitions fixed by their institution. Program programs are decided on a graduate unit basis.

At least an A- (or equivalent) in each of the two years of your full-time study (or full-time equivalent); or an overall average of at least an A- (or equivalent) on all graduate courses completed by the student, if the student has by the application time also completed two years of graduate studies or more.

How to Apply for University of Toronto Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Canada for International Student 2025/2026
To submit an OGS application to a proposed graduate unit, applicants must use the U of T School of Graduate Studies online OGS application.
It will be submitted electronically and once done and submitted, the entire application will be available and accessible to the proposed graduate unit to assess and consider.
Note that OGS awards are not transferable between universities or between graduate programs within U of T. IT holds that students will need to apply to all OGS application to all the graduate units of U of T they are enrolled in and to each and every Ontario University if they are applying to more than one university (each university will have its own unique OGS application and process).
For visa students: Students who have a valid study permit at the time of OGS international application deadline set by their proposed or current graduate unit can submit their application using the same application process and internal deadline provided. The Graduate units will select and submit a limited number of applications to the School of Graduate Studies for adjudication in a centralized manner.
