UNICAL VC Removes HOD for Failure to Present Students for 2024 Convocation.
The University of Calabar (UNICAL), Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi, has taken a decisive step by relieving Prof. Victor Ecoma of his position as the Head of Department (HOD) of the university’s Fine and Applied Arts Department.
This decision stems from alleged negligence and incompetence on the part of Prof. Ecoma.
The announcement came through a statement signed by the university’s Registrar, Mr Gabriel Egbe, on Monday, shedding light on the rationale behind the decision.
According to Prof. Obi, Prof. Ecoma’s removal is attributed to his failure to present students of his department for the 36th Convocation Ceremonies of the institution, which took place on March 22 and March 23.
