The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has dismissed reports circulating online that it has issued a 21-day strike notice to the Federal Government.
The union’s president, Emmanuel Osodeke, described the reports as “social media talk” and assured that any decision to embark on a strike would be officially communicated to the public.
The debunked report had claimed that ASUU’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, concluded plans for a nationwide strike over unimplemented agreements with the government.
However, Osodeke emphasized that official announcements would be made through proper channels, not social media speculation.
